Follow official IMD and local authority advisories, and move to safer locations immediately if flooding or landslide warnings are issued. Avoid waterlogged roads, underpasses and flooded railway tracks, as open manholes and strong currents may be hidden. Travel only if necessary and check the latest train and flight updates before leaving home. Stay away from old buildings, damaged walls, trees and electric poles that may collapse during strong winds. Never touch fallen power lines or electrical equipment in flooded areas. Keep emergency supplies, charged phones, drinking water and essential medicines ready.
